Delicious Cookie Scented Yankee Candle

I bought this candle on clearance for $8 back in January - an amazing deal for Yankee Candle's. I have never used them before but have heard good things about them and have seen hundreds of posts on my Tumblr news feed so I decided to give it a try.

This smells AMAZING. It is hands down the BEST vanilla cookie scent EVER and I have tried many vanilla-cookie scented candles in my lifetime thus far and haven't been this impressed yet.

I am blown away not only by the smell but how well this burns too. I didn't know what to expect from the candle in terms of how they burn and my number one worry with candles is that they'll puddle down in circles into the wax leaving a rim. HUGE pet peeve of mine with candles! I've been a loyal buyer of Bath & Body Works - Slatkin & Co candles for years now due to the scents and great burning power they have and I didn't know if any other candle could compete until now.

This candle, even having only 1 wick, burns beautifully. It liquifies completely, burns down evenly and scents your entire room with this delicious Christmas Cookie smell. The only down side is that after you put out the flame and the wax solidifies again, there are some bumps in the wax. However, this goes away the next time you burn it and doesn't interfere with how well it burns at all.

I must admit that I am blown away by Yankee Candle's now and will definitely repurchase these in the future. I don't know about paying full price as these can range from $25-$35 a candle but if on sale or on clearance I will most definitely be picking these up. That is one thing the B&BW candles offer that these don't and that is being cost effective - [2 for $22] or [2 for $25] are pretty great promotions that I haven't seen from Yankee Candle so Bath & Body Works still wins there.

The one great thing about the Yankee Candles though, is that the burn time they have is pretty high - up to 85 hours! That is really impressive and means they last longer than a single B&BW candle, however they are a lot bigger. In terms of packaging, I am not a huge fan but I'm more indifferent about them to be honest. Recently the top of the jar has burned black because I've burned almost half way through it so the flames are starting to burn up towards the top glass. This isn't an attractive trait in a candle but the scent makes it worth it! In terms of design, I still prefer the B&BW one's but I am still impressed with YC's enough to repurchase and rave about them.

What have your experiences been with Yankee Candles? What's your favourite candle scent?

Mint Body Lotion: Creative Scentsations

So I recently went through my storage in my desk, me being the organizational freak I am, and I found a bunch of products that have been pushed to the side that I had forgotten about. Among them was this hand & body lotion that I've had for a few years and used to love. I guess it got lost in the shuffle and shoved to the back of my shelves but I am so glad I found it again because this smells divine!

I can't remember where I bought it, most likely at some spa back in the day. It's by a company called "Creative Scentsations" and is a lovely Mint & Birch scent. I can't tell you how heavenly this smells and how soft and luxurious it feels on your skin.

The bottle I have is a small 59.2 mL bottle that is travel size, however, there are also full size bottles available. It contains Vitamins, A, E and Aloe Vera which nourishes and hydrates the skin.

The scent combination is so relaxing and calming. I have been using it at night on my feet, lathering it up and putting on a comfy pair of my fluffy Shea infused socks from Bath & Body Works. This combo has done me wonders and the lotion has moisturized my feet so nicely, which is so important during cold winters like the one we are having right now in Canada.

This is still sold, however the company has changed the logo and packaging since I purchased mine years ago. You can buy a bottle HERE on ebay as I'm not sure what retails are selling it, but I do know that it can be found online along with their other scents. I haven't tried any of the others, although the Vanilla one sounds divine, but I highly recommend this one.

Bree Taylor is BACK!

So I desperately need a new blog post on here so this is going to be more of an update post about my life lately.

I've been MIA from this blog mainly because I've had no time for it but also because it got lost in translation of my busy life. I do really enjoy blogging though and am finding it more and more difficult to post videos on my YouTube channel because of how much I have going on lately, so this will be a good alternative and daily dosage for those of you who are missing my videos. I am doing an Internship with an amazing Modelling and Talent Agency and have been guest blogging on there along with running their publicity and social media so it's a full time commitment and I love every minute of it! I am also still working my two part-time retail jobs every now and then and working on planning a media conference for my school with everyone in my program as our final project so to speak. Yes, it is safe to say that I am a work-a-holic.

Other than that I've been trying to maintain my music schedule as I want to have my EP done by if not during this summer. I have been so busy that I haven't had as much time for music as I wish I could have and last year went by with some progress but not as much as I would have liked. My song "Light the Night on Fire" is in production right now getting revamped and mixed and will hopefully be done in a month or so - finally! I have a music video planned for it already inspired by the new Hunger Games movie "Catching Fire" as the song was written, inspired by that book. I'm so excited to get started on all of that; it was almost a year ago that I wrote the song - wow how time flies! I also need to start working on my other songs as well narrowing it down to 3 or 4 of my best one's to move forward for production after this one.

I seriously get so excited talking about music, making music, writing, filming, everything! I am getting anxious just writing this post about it all (haha). Music is my passion and I absolutely adore every aspect of the process and the industry. I am sad that school has taken a huge toll on my music and putting things on the back-burner however, I will be happy to graduate this June with my BAA Honors Degree and a Diploma in Media Communications and Public Relations. It has been an amazing journey being in University and not only have I learned so much but I have had many life experiences, met some wonderful people and even some life-long friends. I will be sad to see it all end, but also I couldn't be more excited for life and what awaits me moving forward. I am also excited to get into my music full force - finally!

So, you can expect some big things from me that's for sure. In the meantime, you can expect blog posts on here again and that means product reviews, swatches, life stories, maybe some personal updates once in a while too but I will keep this updated as often as possibly and be making an effort to post again. BTW I hope you all love the new blog design! I worked hard on it and I absolutely love it! Let me know what you think.

Sorry that I haven't been on here in the last year but I am glad to be back! I've missed you! See you all soon! :)

Love,
Bree
